Day 130

Today is one hundred thirty.
That is a one, a three, a zero.
We have 50 more days of kindergarten.
We went to the calendar.
We added a green hand.
James was the teacher.
He did the calendar.
We added a straw, a tally mark, and a shape.
We counted them all.
Then we added Mr. Caterpillar's circle to the wall.
Today it was a white circle.
Tomorrow it will be green.
On 5 or 0 days, he is white.
The other days he is green.

We did letters.
We did our words.
Tyrone held the words.
James stopped the music.
Then started it.

We worked on our name patterns.
It was like R a n d y G. R a n d y G. R a n d y G. R a n d y G. over and over.
We colored it.
We had one color for every letter in our name.
Every one had a different pattern.
We all have different names.

We had Reading group.
In Ms. Washington's group had a new sound.
It was ch.
Mrs. V.'s group we get to start our little books.
Today we had a test.

We went to lunch.
We had macaroni and cheese of fajitas.
It was good.
We had mixed fruit, beans, corn, chocolate milk.

We had bathroom times.

We worked in centers today.
We all made choices.
Some were good.
Some were bad.
Someone colored on the floor.
We worked together to clean it up.
We scrubbed.
We took turns.
Like three at a time.
Then three at a time.
We used paper towels.
And tissues.
And water.
We didn't all use soap.

We made a unit for a pattern.
It was red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple, brown, black.
That is an ABCDEFGH.
That is the same as our hands.
Mrs. V. put it on the wall.
Side by side.
It made a big pattern.
Mrs. Crews' class put theirs with ours.
It made the pattern long.

We had an ordinal test.
At our tables.
We couldn't use each other for help.
Just our brains.

James read us a book.

We like when he reads to us.

We went to Media.
We read the lion and the mouse story.
The lion says he is the strongest.
The mouse says he promises to help the lion.
The lion got trapped.
The mouse chopped it up.
Then he got out.
We read books too.

We went outside.
We played.
No coats today.
We played soccer.

We came back inside.
We had water.
We packed our book bag.
We did our data notebook.
Melanie cleaned them up.
Today was the 25.

We had an ok day.
Some friends didn't earn their CATS.
But some did.
Tomorrow will be a better day.
You know that is right.
And that is it.

  2. Hi Friends! It sounds like you had a good day. I'm proud of you for working so hard.

James, I was really impressed with your reading! I always knew you would be a great reader! My favorite part of the story was when George said, "Hello." That made me laugh.

You all were such great listeners when James was reading that I did not even know that you were there! Keep up the good work!

    Love,
    Mrs. Phillips

  3. James,

You are an awesome reader! I loved your storytelling with lots of animal sounds and exciting expressions. You could grow up to be a teacher one day! I hope you will come and read to me in my office. I am so proud of how much you are learning in Kindergarten! Keep up the good work!
