Day 112

Today is number one hundred twelve.
We got a new calendar.
It is the first day of March.
We had two home days.
We came to school.
It is January, February, March.
It is March.
We have no birthdays in March.
In this month, no birthdays in this classroom.

We learned how to hide.
From a tornado.

We are going to have a drill.
We learned how to hide like a turtle.
We practiced.

We read a book.
We read Honk! Honk! A Story of Migration
It is a good story.
A goose takes a girl on a journey.
We drew pictures of going on a journey.
James would go to Mexico on a boat.
Melanie would go on a plane.
She would take her family.
Sara would go to the sea in a car.
Jatameyah is going to go fish with her mom in a minute.

We had reading group.
It is Reading Mastery.
In Mrs. V.'s group, we read "He ate a fig." He got sick.
The picture showed the doctor gave him a thermometer.

We new made new sentences.
I see one ____ and two _____.
We filled in the blanks.

We went to lunch.
We had chicken nuggets or bbq.
It was good.
We had mixed fruit, bread, apples, carrots, cheese with broccoli, mashed potatoes and gravy.
Cornella wanted to know if the bbq was chitlins.

In science we made thermometers.

We used strings and hard board to make it.
That is cardboard.
When it gets hot, the mercury goes go.
It goes down when it gets cold.
We wrote about today.
Today was hot.
It was 70.
We wrote that.

In Math, we learned about making sets of numbers.
5, 13, 27, 29, 16, 22, 8, 3, 20.
Lots more.
We did it on the big board.

Luis got to erase it.
We did it on little boards.
We cleaned it off with a tissue.
We had guidance.
We didn't go to guidance.
Ms. McClure came to our class.
We read The Rainbow Fish.
We colored a picture.
We put sprinkles on it.
One for each one.
He was selfish, and then he shared.
At the end he was caring.
He said, "Are you crazy, do you think I'm gonna give away my sprinkles."
We packed our book bags.
We went outside.
We came inside and packed our book bags again.
We had a good day!
Every one earned CATS.
Not everyone.
Someone didn't earn Caring.
They will try better tomorrow.

  2. It sounds like quite a busy day on Day 112! With learning about thermometers, tornado drill safety, writing sets of numbers, and creating sentences, I bet you Kindergarten Kids are REALLY SMART! Does anyone want to be a doctor or nurse when they grow up and use a thermometer everyday?
